On the way to the volcanoes, a sightseeing tour is included around San Jose City and its main attractions:

Departing from Tobias Bolaños International Airport, you will fly across 3 main provinces in Costa Rica. San Jose, Alajuela and Cartago between Irazu, Turrialba, and Poas Volcanoes. Impressive admire its huge crater, considered one of the largest in the world. This crater measures 1.5 kilometers in diameter (0.9 miles) and is 300 meters deep (900 feet).
The summit, surrounded by beautiful rain forest, includes a volcanic origin lagoon called Laguna Botos. Its deep blue waters contrast with the dense tropical forest that surrounds it.
From this point it is possible to see both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans on a clear day.
